It is merely the angle the picture was taken from. The lights are straight. But I'll try straightening them a bit more. Day shot:

that looks so amazing! *jealous*

how do you filter ponds like these? is there a drain at the bottom? Some of you are building filters? where are some resources for that?

I've wanted a pond for years, being a turtle/monster fanatic. I've currently got a 125G tank with a Filstar XP3 or 4. I just cant seem to wrap my mind around filtering a 300-600G pond.

stylEmon...
I don't use a bottom drain. I think that is a Koi think. My filter is a waterfall. It is filled w/water hyacinth in the summer and keeps the water crystal clean. Pond Pics 002.jpg
This is a pic of the filter. It is 24"x24" and filters a pond appox. 1200 gals.

Water hyacinth is great if you are allowed to grow it. It was illegal in Texas and the fine was around $500 and jail if they were feeling ornery. Does anybody know if it is ok to use in Florida?
Anyway as soon as I unbury the computer, I'll post my Texas pond.

My pond is 9ft (circular) x 5ft (deep) - Around 2380 gallons.
Was made by me and my brother, planning to build a monster pond at some point before 2010.

Usually the water is clearer but these pic's were taken in the winter months when the pump's not used. Will update in the summer when it's more lively.

RIGHT YOU ARE DEFINITELY ILLEGAL HERE REWARD FOR TURNING SOMEONE IN, IN FLORIDA I HAVE NOT SEEN WHERE IT IS ILLEGAL, HOWEVER IT IS UNDER WHAT THEY REFER TO AS CONTROLLED MANAGEMENT. IT OVERTOOK SOME LAKES AND RIVERS LIKE ST JOHNS

Great pond. Well done.

Is that a sturgeon? Thats awesome if it is. I've never seen one mixed with kio. No compatibility problems with the koi? does it eat koi food? Any problems with stress in the summer heat?

quick question, how do you heat a tank that big ? i want a tropical pond in Alabama, is this possible?
