Pacu how many for a 55 gallon tank

Yeah, unfortunately pacu can grow to over 65 lbs.
 
yeah find someone to give them to. They are wonderful fish and need a HUGE pond to house them.
 
hope you are wearing a nomex flame retardent suit, but you kinda brought this one on yourself. how many pacus? probably maybe 1/5th of an adult? prob less. this is the reason they shouldnt sell these guys cheap at every lfs on the planet
 
you can't keep them in the 55g long term, they're going to eventually get over 2' long each and need a pretty substantial sized tank(over 300g)
I had a Red Belly Pacu in a 29 gal. tank for years. They tend to grow depending on the tank size, at least, that has been my experience. Mine grew about 13 inches, was very active and healthy. I had to move and gave it to a friend. It lived with him, in the same tank for about 2 years more, until he took it to a lake. We both, maintain excellent filtration and abide by a 30% water change every month, and we fed it vegetables and and blood worms.

That's terrible. Stunting the fish to that degree and still not giving it room to stretch.
