A fish that is massively deformed only being 1/3 of the size it should be, kept in a tank where the water I imagine would be like a pea soup with that water change schedule. Sounds very healthy.

I had a Red Belly Pacu in a 29 gal. tank for years. They tend to grow depending on the tank size, at least, that has been my experience. Mine grew about 13 inches, was very active and healthy. I had to move and gave it to a friend. It lived with him, in the same tank for about 2 years more, until he took it to a lake. We both, maintain excellent filtration and abide by a 30% water change every month, and we fed it vegetables and and blood worms.
It is horribly irresponsible to release an aquarium fish into the wild. Secondly it is not only false, that a fish will grow to the size of the tank, but it’s cruel... I hope this is an educational issue and not trolling.

This thread is 7 y/o and served its purpose
