The largest one is very personable and her colors are coming in nicely. If I kept a female I would likely move it into a 65B as a solo wet pet. I have some other ideas in mind for the 90.
May have to rethink my stocking... my growout red devil and large RTM are going at it. I am watching carefully to make sure no one gets killed
The devil is persistent but the rtm has a larger mouth and seems to be the dominate fighter

Thanks, not bad for a Petsmart mutt. I was hoping its faint bars on the body would show up a bit more. Time will tell.
Good looking Red Devil. You thinking male or female? I have one growing out that looks similar shape/fins. I’m debating on if it’s going to be male or female.
Hope it is male so it can join my other amphilophus in my 300. Too small to vent just yet.
Oh so, its more of a mating ritual with the mutt and female RTM? I guess she keeps telling him that he's not worthy.

I was pretty surprised how in my book she was winning the fight having her mouth completely over his where he couldn’t even bite back, yet today he still struts around the tank like he owns it. Trying to get some stock moved around and see if I have separate spaces for them.
Overdue update: Decided to separate the Petsmart devil and RTM. It was a constant battlefield and both fish were looking beat on. Now the RTM is just with her sisters. She is still a big girl at twice the size of her siblings.
I spent some money on the tanks and will be adding dual Aquaclear 110’s to the 90’s. But Ive decided to keep just the largest RTM female and move her into a 65B of her own. I know people debate tank sizes but I feel its a waste to use the 90 on a female that at best may get 10”. I think her mom is only about 7”. Anyway, waiting for tannins to go down but will move her into this tank
I had carved out a cave structure that even as an adult, she will be able to use.
