Dloks Dloks got X-ray vision I reckon, cuz I fail to see spots.

Perhaps like tiny tigs may not have the stripes yet but are dark colored, so are piraibas, tiny like this one. It looks piraiba to me. I am rather positive. Not capa anyway.

Yes, please spell the fish name right...

I, the MFK troll, in the sound state of mind and of my own free will choose to apologize for my insolent suggestion :) Everyone is free to call the fish whatever they want. It's a free country and a free forum. You favor -
- by all means, my brother! Proceed as you were. I have no expectations. And the last thing I want is "to get down to it". You'd blow me out of the water :) I prefer to conceal and keep my ignorance safe with me :)

We could also let FishBase speak. I think it is safe to trust FishBase.

If there is no desire to look at the link I dutifully provided to back up my statement, I will copy and paste the table of 53 common names for the fish here. It includes the Brazilian-Portuguese name "Filhote" of vernacular nature, meaning it is used by the locals in one locality.

On the second point, I too again apologize for my mumbled wordage, wherein it could be construed that I suggested that the OP fish could be a tig. In no shape or form did this thought ever crossed my mind. I tried to draw a parallel between young tigs and young piraibas, the related fish from the same genus, where both can be found (largely) devoid of pattern and appear almost solid colored.
