That is sooo cool. :headbang2
thanxs :)

and im going to bump this new reply and all these new pix to the next page

finally rebuilt the bio box
this was my first try at "tank" making, this has me wanting to make more :naughty:
i cut the old bio box down
cut the glass down to size
cleaned the glass
re siliconed everything back together
packed it all tight with media

also rebuilt the drip plate.
it was siliconed, glass on acrylic, held for about 30 years but was falling apart now.
i used locktite marine glue, worked great.

"here is how the filter goes,i posted it in another thread"

overflows the side
then to a drip plate
then to a/c filter padding,2 layers
then the next level is felt
then down to more felt
"all that is about 5g"
then to bio balls "5g of those" half in water, half out
then through the 2" tube down to the 2nd filter
bottom filter
first,another drip plate
then to 7g of bio balls in the bio box
then to about 10g of bio balls underwater, under the bio box
then to scrubbies and sponges about 7g of those
2 bags of carbon
then through 2" thick sponge
then pump and heater
"those gallons are just media not the actual sumps gallons"

ok story time, time to catch this thread up to date :)

had a leak!
just the sump tho.
still soaked my stand and carpet, still drying it out. :irked:
"you can see the water damage on the legs in these pix. :irked:
my gramps put a patch on the outside and it leaked.
i siliconed a patch on the inside and fixed it.
heres a thread on it with pix.
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125209

then i thought,it might be better to move the filter to the right side of the stand.
reason was shorter return line for more gph.
what better time then when the filter was already out.
heres a thread about that.
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125440

so heres the finished pix
sump patched
filter moved

that is an awesome setup, what would you say would be the easiest way of contructing like a large structure to hold alot of water, like your pond that was wooden you made, would that be the easiet and cheapest way?

thats hard to say :irked:
easiest and cheapest is to find a big tank used.
my "big" pond turned into a money pit.lol
not to bad but more then i thought.
and it was easy cus im good at building.

and i never made a big tank, yet :naughty:
but it will cost and not be as easy as 1 2 3
but can be done if you trust your work.lol
hope thats the answer you wanted.llol
:D
