Awesome tank man. That's awesome that you get to use something your grandfather made too. Just a question about the pvc overflows in the prefilter, can you flip every other one that way if the first plate plugs the water will hit the other filters instead of just running down the pvc to the bio balls? Great setup though man, I'm gonna use some of those ideas when I build my next tank.

ya its really cool my gramps made it.
he hasnt seen the new stuff ive done to it.
going to have him come over this weekend.
and thats a good point about the pvc but by then i should have cleaned or noticed it.lol
but next time i clean the side filter i think i will flip them around.

cut the plywood for the stand.
not sure the next step.lol
trim it,stain it.
im going to make the front plywood removable to get the w/d out if needed.
thinking about making the whole front fold down like a glove box in a car.
or just screw it on and put 2 doors on it. "plywood is thin so it might not be good with heavy doors".
what way do ya think?

i was thinking the clip kind.
not sure if magnets will hold.

i like the swoop of the grain in the wood to much to paint over it.

there already is a huge sump in it.lol
thats why its going to have to be removable one way or another.
one way will have no doors and will flip down
other way will have doors and will have to be removed with screws.
