I dont understand pothos some time. In the main tank its been "planted" for a long time..... in the girls 55gallon half the time, and in the snappers tank little less than the 55... The 55gal and snapper have grown alot. The main tank, Iv gotten a total of about 6 leaves ha, I average 1 per month. The only thing that could possibly be the affect is the pothos in the main tank are near the end of the line, where the other tanks its the only plant.....

Ok so just to make sure I'm doing this right. I bought another $6 pothos from walmart. After breaking all the dirt off this is what I have
Can I just stick these in my tank as is? I've been trimming the dirt roots down to about an inch or so then sticking them in there but do I need to cut all the roots off? Or cut off a vine and stick the end of the vine in there? I just want to make sure these grow like all the ones I've been seeing on here because mine have been growing really slow.

Yes there are 2 huge windows in the room so sunlight isn't an issue. I haven't cut the plant at all just some of the roots because they need to grow water roots right?I've seen pics like this though:

Here's a quick photo update for my 65G mangrove riparium setup...
Those are all real mangrove plants in there, including balc mangrove trees and Cryptocoryne ciliata, which also grows in mangrove swamps. I started adding salt real slow just a few days ago when I got my little group of sheepshead minnows.

Those photos are demonstrating how to propagate (make more plants out of the original plant) Pothos by sticking cuttings in water until they develop roots and then are potted and become new, individual plants rather than adding them for Nitrate Reduction. Do NOT cut up the plant anymore. The extreme shock from being stripped from its pot and being severely root pruned as well having to adapt to growing in new lighting, nutrient, and "soil" conditions (called "transplant shock") is already enough stress. Pothos are pretty hardy, but they still need care.
hoping to have this tank setup sunday with its double plant tier soooo i hope nothing gets in my way! 2 more tank sides to put up, then the "waterproofer" seal it up and fill.
