Plant only filtration (why not popular in the hobby???)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
not to sure what i am seeing but looks cool

This should explain it better. Pump in tank, pump pumps water into aquarium ( this is all on top of the tank) which then spills over into the containers filled with plants. follow the arrows which then dumps back into the tank. I didnt finish building the walls it was getting late and the kid wanted to ride the power wheels. So the gaps you see wont be there, instead bulkheads will be installed to let the water flow.

For you Guy's looking for a cheap, easy way to Hang plants on the back of your tank.... Shower caddies!!!!

I have these and used them. They take up space unless you have a large tank. My clown loaches, cory's and bala sharks would go in side and eat on the pothos roots.

Ithurtz-
Ok i understand now how the trough works and you will have your plants on the trough and the trough will sit at a slightly higher elevation that the top of the large tank so that the water gravity flow into it.

question- why do you need this little tank? is it going to be continuous flow or intermittent? Are you pumping from the big tank to the little tank then again from the little tanks to the trough?

Newbie ask alot of questions lol

those shower caddies are great, but i have an acrylic tank that has openings that are more centered so if i use those acrylic will be covering the plants.
