Does anyone know if I can use regular clear plastic store containers for breeding guppies? Also, does anyone know how these containers stand against heaters and prolong water storage?:confused::confused:

Thanks GUYS!!!!

umm that is fine. u could use a match box if u wanted.lol. got a pond ful of guppies that breed millions a day. i feed to my fish for a treat. the container should be fine. i dont use any heating

the heater wont affect the plastic gaurunteed or else u can kik me in head lol. put a plastic coke bottle filled to top with water on a fire. it doesnt melt it, it shrinks the bottle

Plastic leaches, especially if heat is involved. Some types of plastic leach more than others. So basically you're running the risk of poisoning your fish by keeping them in a plastic container. Probably not enough to kill them, but if the guppies become part of a food chain and get fed to other fish, their concentration of plastic-poison will be greater, and the risk of problems as well.

I emailed the people at steri-lite and they say thier containers are safe, and I have used them.Lots of people use rubbermaid too.
