Today change some water...got bitten by Hoplias intermedius... got 5 dun know which is the one...
last time always when my hand go in they will move away.. now still the same but will attack...
guess the bigger they are the more aggressive they are...







quite deep bite from it...lucky not by my aimara or will rip my finger off...

I bet that was a bit of a shock!

Having more than one also adds to the aggression- I have some golds growing out at the moment and they're as bad as a shoal or RBP's or similar- got to be SERIOUSLY careful. It'll boil down to competition- they see something hit the water and want to be the first to it, just incase its food.

Feeding frenzies are good fun to watch as long as it's not a finger/hand/limb they're feeding on. Well, as long as it's not your's anyway...

They even go on a feeding frenzies on pellet as well...
anything that touch the water will just go for the kill...
frog is something they like best...

BTW I have no idea what with my big aimara....
suddenly turn into zombie ... banging itself till the whole lip is gone...
it like very angry with the whole world.... :screwy:
I had him almost going to be a year seldom see it like this even if I know it is aggressive...
