I have never even heard of this kind before....
Very hard to get without going to collect yourself. It's in the lacerdae group.

It's a UK mag, http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/ on the hole a good magazine, they do a subscription. The articals are usually published online sometime after original publication, a year sometimes.

Writen by Oliver Lucanus, I have read the artical but see my thread on the magazine forum. There were a number of inaccuracies.

Symantics, but it should be said that Erythrinus as a genus are the smallest of just 3 within the Erythrinidae. Hoplerythrinus, though the second smallest genus are also by default, the second largest too ;)

In addition, there are other species within the Hoplias genus listed as staying relatively small, though their availability in the market place would suggest that first hand, captive experience is still limited- Australis, Brasiliensis for example. Referance Fishbase (awaits flaming for that one..!)

But I would agree, the sizing is off for the most part as, again, you and I, as well as numerous others on here haver specimens of Curupira and Hoplerythrinus larger than their stated sizes.

Way to stick it to the man!

News! I decided to hold off on any other fish for the moment. The wife agreed that if I am good and do not buy any other fish until tax season, she will let me buy that ampa Aimara that george is selling!!!! I cannot freaking wait!
