Considering you just spelt "benefits" wrong, I can tell why you don't have benefits.:grinno:j/k man

With the 29g tank you can build a fiberglassed tower to fit the tank and still have a sump for heating/UV/etc...

You want to have at least 18" of "dry" bio-media in height...by building your own you can make the intakes and drip plate, right where they'll fit the best for your stand...

Gotta love DIY stuff.
You can make it to last a lifetime, and custom build it to make it easy to service...

I love building my own stuff, its a great way to save money and fully customizable. Maybe i can get like a 45 breeder and make a couple of bio towers for it, so the sump can be completely full. That will leave me with 220+ gallons of water which is a major plus for my bioload!! if i have a big one, lol

Yesterday i did some practice fiber glassing with out the roller. I used the brush technique and now i know why zennzzo said dont do any if you dont have it. It seemed like all the air was out of it. But when the fiberglass dried i seen tiny to big air bubbles all over the place in it. So now i know first hand exp. lol.

I think im going to build the main structure of the stand first so i have a decent height working area for glassing. And i also think im going to order a roll of 10oz fiberglass cloth at 5 yards and see how far that will get me. I also think im going to use west systems epoxy to. I reallly dont want to cheap out on this project. Might as well not rush.!! naaaaa mean

Sorry brother,
I had to clean a couple of ponds and do some yard work...;)

Yup, just swish it around in the acetone...When I'm doing a big job I just keep an acetone bucket and drop my rollers in there until I need them again...pat them dry with a paper towel, before I start rolling again...when you are done for the day acetone them really good and wire brush in between the grooves...
If you are going to do much 'glassin, go for the rollers that are aluminum with wooden handles...they hold up the best...
(hint #1, away from all acetone and flamable products, you can use a propane torch to soften the hardened resin on an aluminum roller)
