MAN O MAN, my keyboards been broke for the past three days, havent been able to get on, but holy crap talk about a dispute!!! its great guys its great. Thanks to the supporters!!! and thanks to the constructive critics!!!!.

This box is NOT the finished product!!!! As soon as i cut the viewing window holes out, im going to fiberglass everything, and double up on every seam. After thats done then im throwing in my bracing(trying to work around all that would be a pain). Cant really explain how im going to do it, but i know this will not bow after i get done with it (to a certain extent) i would have invested to much time to just watch this thing spring a leak!!

The gorilla glue thing. I sat in the isle at lowes for about an hour trying to figure out if i wanted to use regular wood glue or gorilla glue, and i should of used wood!!! lol

This bad boy is bullet proof BUD. everytime i walk by it i give it a good ole kick to see if its still holding up alright, (=

Heres 2 pics of what the viewing window is going to look like. There is a center support piece, it might hide something down the road to

should i go wider with them?

Do you guys think i can get away with 1/4" plate glass? the actual tank height is 19 3/16". Taking into consideration of the 3/4" thickness of the bottom piece of plywood and the actual water level theres only going to be about 16.5" of water height, give or take a inch, inch ina half

Also dual 1.5" overflows okay. or should i go bigger. Not sure what size pump im going to run but will be pretty big

First, start building a frame around it. Maybe 2x4's on a 12" or 18" center with top and bottom support. Basically you make a ladder going up the long side of the tank. I don't know a good way to do the front without really making it look bad, but all that water needs to be held in somehow. Perhaps some 4x4's ringing the unit and one in the center would be a good start. You shouldn't have a lot of lateral force since its only 19 inches high, but I'd overbuild it to start.

Any reason you didn't frame prior to boxing out?

No reason, iv seen many built like this, with very few with any type of 2x4 frame or anything.

I dont think im going to run into any problem with some well placed bracing

18" tanks are typically built with 5/16-3/8" glass. I'd err on the side of thicker, rather than thinner. 1/4" might hold water but I'd always wonder about it's integrity when a large fish has a spaz fit and crashes into it.
