Greenhouse idea will help retain heat.

A simple heater using a black gardenhose and pump works surprizingly well. Lay the hose out on the ground, or better the roof of a shed, and allow the pump to cirulate water through the hose into the pond. Fairly slow flow and not running it at night will do a good job and cost pennies to operate....

This is a great idea! Is the black garden hose fish safe? Is that a dumb question? Just wondering because my garden hose, when hot, kinda stinks when I first run it but the water comes out very hot! Just wondering if there's out gassing issues with the rubber used? Might want to go with the black "type" hose for fish tank plumbing? Kinda pricy is 50' was needed.
 
I would think it is safe.

Black Poly irrigation pipe could probably be used as well. Not as flexible, but turns can be made with glued fittings.

Yes! This would be the cheapest option and completly safe. Set up a pump on a timer for day and night and also put the pump on a temp controller so it will turn off if the temps in the pond gets to hot.
