Well in his case he has an Oscar. And so long as he feeds the fry to the O around the half inch mark will have no issues except maybe a couple hiding in the O tank and not becoming lunch.
The convicts are in my 60 with the eggs alone. They weren’t having it with my Oscars being stubborn sitting directly above their log with the fry in it. They kept double teaming one oscar and the oscar kept sitting above their log like whatever and im looking at him smiling like ur crazy lmao 😂🤣 Then once the oscar went at one of the convicts for going at him and instantly the other convict came out the log and they both double teamed em. They both also went at my other oscar lol.

It takes three days to hatch. Another three days or so in wiggler stage where they are all in a pile learning how to swim basically. Then they get to the free swimming stage. The parents then herd them around the tank to graze. You may or may not lose this batch if you move them. The parents may consume the eggs to recycle the energy. Don't worry within weeks they will have another.
The old adage holds true, Convicts are the easiest of all to spawn.
Add a male
Add a female
Add water
And in no time you will have a spawn.
I did move the log and the parents to the sixty. No babies 😢 think they ate em because the eggs were fertilized and I dont see em anymore. But like you said, they will spawn again in weeks. How many weeks do you think?

It will take 3 to 4 weeks or there about. Mom has to recoup from the batch she just layer. Then she has to make the next. You will tell when she get a nice round belly. At that point she is full of eggs again and will start laying again.

You can see here, Goldie Hawn Caspers mate has a nice fat belly. This is just before she layed her first batch of eggs.

Interesting 🧐 i love your fish, they’re flawless 😍 and oh 3-4 weeks is quick wow. So if I get 4 more convicts, and say I get another pair and they lay eggs, are the other convicts done for? 😂 what if i have 3 pairs total, what happens if they all lay eggs? Is it ww1?

Ya I wouldn't put them all in the same tank. Or as you said it would be WW3 in your tank.
My Honduran Red Points were on a six week cycle. From the point the eggs was laid till the next batch was laid. There were in a tank with fish that ate all fry as soon as they got to swimming stage. This was on purpose so I didn't get overrun with HRP fry.20180916_155351.jpg
This guy and his 3 friends would do all the fry removal20180719_165256.jpg
One would get the parents attention. The other three would chow down.

If you have multiple breeders in one tank like that, more than likely you won't get any fry. If the parents are too stressed they will just eat the eggs to recycle that energy instead of letting the competition get it.

Yeah im gonna keep them alone. Thank you. How long do you feed them brine shrimp and blood worms when they are free swimming? About a month right?

Back in the day i had 3 pairs of convicts in a 55 and all 3 would breed at the same time and they would all stay in there territories except for the babies they would be all over the tank and it was funny watching the parents try and keep up with there fry by the day they would all care for all the fry. most died or got eaten then around 2-3 weeks later all fry would be gone and they would do it all over again.
A few months ago i had a pair of Red Jewels who would breed every 2 weeks one day they were breeding during a WC craziest thing i ever saw
