Possible convicts spawning??

The old adage holds true, Convicts are the easiest of all to spawn.
Add a male
Add a female
Add water
And in no time you will have a spawn

Convicts are substrate spawning. There eggs are sticky. I would half fill the 60gal with water from the tank the pair is in. You could put a plastic container into the tank and move the log into the container so you don’t have to pull it out of the water. After placing in the 60gal, then fill er up and dechlorinate.

And I can give em away at one inch? I think im gonna keep 4 of em and raise em big with momma n daddy then give the rest away to a LFS.

Yeah it was hard to do with the female lol. She was pushed up in the back in the cove part of the log haha. She wouldnt leave those eggs for nothing. All I could get was the male, but they both came out to give the ol oscar a double team thrashing so I got lucky lol

I love convicts, just love seeing pics, can't let the oscar get the beating though, what a pain huh but hey you got some cool fun fish.

Yeah they’re great fish! I put them and the fry in the 60g alone. They’re doing great. The fry is all fertilized, every egg. Cant wait

Them, JD, FM and oscars are my four favorite fish. Oscars being my first tho lol. Best personalities ever, just like dogs hahahah.

The first spawn for me was a great experience. They are prolific breeders and getting rid of fry will be difficult.

Well in his case he has an Oscar. And so long as he feeds the fry to the O around the half inch mark will have no issues except maybe a couple hiding in the O tank and not becoming lunch.
