POST PICS OF YOUR PLANTS AND PLANTED TANKS HERE

I got them from a local small chain pet store. Zamzows. They all actually seem to grow well though I think they prefer longer light periods than 10 hours or so. I curently have 2 t8 6500k lights on this tank both pushing 38 watts. That should be 3 watts per inch. I do have a bit of nice fine mat type aglea on my rocks which I do like. I just want to keep a natural balance.

Thanks, the second is definitely Myriophyllum Hippuroides, there is a nearly identical plant available at the fish store that is only a darker shade of green. The first has a lot of looks similar to indica, the only issue with being sure is that I have red leaves as well, the old growth is red where the new growth is green, of course it could be a lighting issue.

Here are the specs:

25 gallon tank
150 watt heater running at 80
2 38watt 6500k bulbs
1 sponge filter powered with a 310

I also have lace rock in there but my PH is not off the charts high like a lot of people would think. I am only in the high 7's right now without peat and driftwood.. I should be able to maintain near base conditions which I am hoping do well for bolivians. I am not running co2, nor do I have a plant type substrate, just gravel. I do one 30% w/c a week.

So what do you think?

Well, I wasn't expecting this to be considered for this category but heh if this is where it goes. As long as I can still get the useful info I was hoping for.

Forgive the blurryness, it's a crap camera and was the best of 20 shots. Sadly.

Hi all, I decided to get my feet wet with some low maintenance plants and a smaller tank to see how I took to keeping live plants. I'll admit right now that I love the look of the tank. I do have a few issues and I am hoping it is just because the plants are new to the tank and haven't full rooted.

Anyway, on to the pics:

BTW the background is just a spray on rock style paint. Meant for a textured paint feel. I decided to use it for a color breakup to the background rather than use one flat color. I think it sets the plants and rocks in the tank off.
the 1st is rotala rotundrifola. i have some of that.as for the second GOOD LUCK

Love that rock you have in there :) What's your stock?

Heh, sadly right now I have one fish, a lone Ballood Sailfin Molly. I'll be putting some Bolivians or Apistos in it soon. I wanted to have the tank running smoothly with plants before I added fish just to save on stress and possible deaths. I have already been warned that my rock will alter the ph and such but it's not really affecting it much so I'm not worrying. The plants are growing like mad, though the Sag did drop it's original leaves and throw out new growth. I am also finding that these plants will shoot roots very fast... so far I am very pleased.. My next additions will be ottos once my rock gets a good algae base. I prefer the look of the algae on the rock, it seems much more natural.. I just hate it on my glass lol.

1.5wpg. plants are peacock moss and java fern.
