No such thing as a dwarf fresh water ray. I would start with a heavy filtered 75 gallon for pups and then move up from there. Most species require atleast 24" wide and up tank. Ideal would be a tank that measured 30-36" wide. If you want rays then plan your tank around them. Go with large filtration as well. I prefer sumps just for the added water volume.

there actualy is, it suprized me too!
i went to living sea aquarium (my local fish store) and saw them, it said dwarf motoro stingray. it was the size of a human hand including the tale, and i was like WTF! i asked the guy and he said it will only grow a few more inches!:WHOA:

maybe he was a noobie and it was a pup?

anyways....so you guys think a 55 with 3 other small fish (that will grow big and i will upgrade (2 oscars and an arow)) is to small for a pup or dwarf ray?

My favorite is this female. Just over 10" across the disc. Not a great pic, she doesn't sit still when I'm near the tank.

very nice MM brah! MM envy to all the MM's pictured...

I would say they were just motoro pups and the guy was a noobie and didn't know what he was talking about..
As far as the tank goes i would just save your money and buy a bigger tank and then go with rays.. I wanted rays for along time but took alot of people's advice and waited until i had the right tank and filtration.

no such thing as a dwarf ray... he was just trying to sell it to you.
a 55 would only last you about a month before it gets to big..... same thing as your arow.... need a lot bigger tank. what are you going to do when the arow gets 24" long?.. unless you are one of those people that think fish only grow to the size of their tank :screwy:

Heres a couple of pictures i took the other day,one shows my young female from my pair topping another female......the bodies so arched it reminds me of a leopard tortoise if anyones familiar with such a creature.
