Rainbows or giant danios?

Amazing rainbows, I had some and then my oscar grew:cry::cry:

But if u have GT fry u could always hook me up:help2::thumbsup::grinyes:
That GT is the best I’ve ever seen and looks almost like a flower horn with his hump and colors:headbang2

What kind of rainbows did you have? There are so many kinds, I think when the day comes that I have a free tank I’d like to keep a bunch of them! I just love em.

I need to get into the shipping game. Haha. I’m intimidated to do it, but I think this spring I might give it a go. If I do I’ll make a post seeing who’s interested. I can tag you at that point if you’d like.
 
Yess please I would read all the posts on it and you can also ask your lfs to bag them

I think I had bosemon or something like that, loved em :mwave:
But so did my Oscar and at first I thought it was the crawfish:cry:so i didn’t catch him in time but I got the last 5 out and gave them away to a guy who has a giant multi species rainbow tank

Dang I bet that’s impressive!
I’ll have to check around. Only one place I know has oxygen and they are 2hrs away. I already have bags:)
I’ll keep you posted then when the weather warms up.
 
Due to a heater issue I lost all my original babies:(
But today I found 50+ new ones just hatched in the sump:) Yay!
So now I’m starting over with these guys. I’ve already come across 5 or so with bent backs and a couple dead ones. Not sure why I’m seeing deformities this round, but figured I’d mention it for the record.

Update on these guys.
Looks like they are all danios again. :duh:
Not sure why, but those sneaky guys are so prolific.

I do like these guys, but.... I’d really like to raise rainbows. I’m debating on separating them and only keeping the rainbows with the gts. I’d build my school up so I’d only have the red rainbowfish. That would mean taking the current mystery female rainbowfish out too.

They are just horn balls. Lol
They spawned while temps were down, high 60’s - low 70’s.
The tank is normally kept in the high 70’s to 80.

I have hard water. Off the chart high.
PH is 8.5

I did have driftwood in the tank. No plants.
 
For the life of me mine haven't bred. I have the same params but pH is lower, around 7.8. Will try higher.
