Thanks again, and toCGRONCO I have kept other Petrochromis but not the Texas but they did well on cichlid flakes with a good vegetable percentage.

the challenge is they are tropheus times 10!

petro's chase each other alot, stressing leads to death. you pretty much need at least a 125 gallon for them. some have found that breeding tropheus in with them helps, as they will chase the tropheus instead. i'd maybe keep cheaper mbuna like electric yellows with them, maybe peacocks instead of risking tropheus.
some petrochromis are more peaceful than others.

Interseting information,I've never kept more than of them at a time and it did get nippy at times.

any other pictures of this fish?? I can only find two on the internet! one of the pics looks amazing, and the other doesnt look so hot. Would love to see more.

I have a book on cichlids that has some info on them with a few pictures-Back to Nature guide to Tanganyika Cichlids by Ad Konings. Its a pretty good book for identification and care but I have had it for a few years now,you should be able to find it.I try to get all of the Back to Nature books.
