yes the plants in the vegetation box is part of the filtration system cos water flows thru' it and fall into the pond.... I did post some build pics in the stickied outdoor pond thread...and not many gear/equipment for this pond..just a single pump, UV light and ACDC air pump (in case of power cut)

thanks, its tropical climate here and water temp 28 to 30 c so heater not required

very nice ponds .. here is mine. 300+ gal. 300 gph pump with a skimmer box falls filter set up. koi and golds all year long.
