Hard to find them when your looking for them..at least that is what happens to me... but if your not ready it is best to hold off... besides you really do want to know for sure yours is a female and then know the one your getting is a male if you want to breed etc...RedDevilDon2005;2144809; said:
Do I qualify?? Heres my little RD that I got from PetSmart. Quite a story with him/her. I saw him/her poking it's big head out of this tank ornament and I knew I wanted it because she/he has great color and eye color. Also it was the biggest one at 4.5" and looked to be in there for a long time. Anyway, I told the girl working that I wanted that particular one so she wrestled with the ornament trying to shake the fish out and a few more fell out and I thought one was him/her because we couldn't here anymore movement in the ornament. This went on for like 20 minutes. so I ended up taking that one home. I came back to the store a few days later to pick up some food and happened to glance in the tank and there he/she was again with head poking out. I was like damn, your a sneaky little one. So again I got one of the girls working there and said there is a big rd in that ornament and I want it. So again she wrestled with the ornament and once again got to the point where we couldn't here or feel any movement inside. And I said he/she has got to be in there. So she got her manager and the manager decided to take it to the back and crack it open. There he/she was, way down a narrow passage stuck. So we got it out and he/she decided, I'm not ready to leave and fell to the floor. I thought it was going to be damaged but he is doing great and eating like a pig. This is a little older pic of him/her. I need to get some updated ones.

they are hard to find once they grow up..only chance is if they outgrow someones tank and you happen to be there... but you can also keep looking on MFK classified..good luck

I need to do a w/c tomorrow. I bought 5 of them before when they were little and one outgrew the rest and killed 'em all. He turned out to be my breeding male though.
