i didnt get the Fx5 because i keep hearing they fail after a few months, i bought a cascade 1500 just to get the tank started, plugged it in primed it and started it, sounded like someone threw a handful of rocks in the thing

I've got a cascade 1000 on my 60gallon with my beast. Its a good filter but its backed up by a emperor 350 and a hydor 5 sponge filter. More than worth the $20 I payed for it at the last swap meet. It out performs my rena xp3 easily.

On another note.. I had my girlfriend feeding my fish for me last night and she was talking about how odd it was that my devil tank was so peaceful. Then she saw my female locking lips with my little mayan lol. I told her "she probably layed eggs" sure enough I looked in there and they were all over the inside of shipwreck shes always defending. I'd take some pictures but I pissed my girlfriend off the other night and she took her camera back. I will try to get some tonight before they are free swimming. I think bumping the heater up to 80-81* encouraged the spawn.
