Did he die from starvation..? I never feed live food..but when i first brought my ck home at 4 inches.. he would not eat anything but live... coming from the wild it is hard to change them as babies... i fed guppys and when he got bigger and stronger i started weaning him off.. and now theres not a fish in the tank he would bother except if they took his cichlid pellets...Camphilophus;2206641; said:I rescued a abk from my LFS and I didn't get him to eat for the 2 months I had him. It was sad to watch.
I tried convicts in the wriggler stages, bigger convict fry, earth worms, 3-4 different frozen meats, live brine shrimp, pellets, shrimp pellets, tubiflex worms, flakes, veggies. Literally everything I feed my other fish. I just had no luck whatsoever. It sucked.Red Devil;2206878; said:Did he die from starvation..? There was major stress going on by the time you rescued him... thats all...not anything you could do...or he already went too long without eating and was sick... yes it does hurt when you try so hard to no avail..Camphilophus;2206988; said:I tried convicts in the wriggler stages, bigger convict fry, earth worms, 3-4 different frozen meats, live brine shrimp, pellets, shrimp pellets, tubiflex worms, flakes, veggies. i would go along with that... one is enough.. if they grow up together in big tank maybe.... but otherwise could be trouble.perfect_prefect;2207847; said:i would have to suggest not putting in a few big ck's, possibly one thats big enough to not get killed, i just picked up a 20" that had been in with another 20" and they were both beat pretty badly and the other one died. usually it would have been fighting each other but they were beat up by a 9" fahaka puffer. would have to say one of substantial size would be alright but not more than one.
