Red Terror species differences

Can you tell me the difference in male red terror colours" Is it a difference in location of the terrors? when you see a male with the black stripes of the females! and some males are a solid orange to green colour"

Now, this is just my guess. Since mine are only juveniles still. But I've noticed my male tends to lose his bars and be more solid in color when he is just swimming around being normal. But when the female comes around. Or he gets irritated those bars come back out. So I'm gonna guess it's a stress/mating dress type deal.

Well, it comes down to catch location yes. It has a lot to do with selective breeding and different lines. Some males can look like a female, IN BREEDING DRESS. Now many of these differences come out in spawning color. There are peruvian and ecuadorian. many different lines from professional breeders like jason @Freshwaterpredators , he has many different lines of festae that can and will show different color/patterns. A lot comes down to diet as well, however the biggest factor is genetics!

I agree with the above post...the male with the dark bars are breeding (official)dress and the orangish hue with the bars almost non existent is casual dressing

Mine only slightly bars up like this beast(not mine). Mostly green/orangey-gold.
