Now is healing up really well and tail and body almost fully recovered now. A bit fuzzy of a pic but you can tell its much better now.

Next week Im going to try and rehome some. My buddy still wants the female to breed with his big male and I possibly have an outlet for two males also. I think my temporary goal is to keep two of the males with 'tear drop' marking and let the rest go. Then grow out those two for a while until I determine a final keeper. The original goal was for a solo male when it all began but got distracted by too many choices, lol.

Rehomed the female to my buddy so he can breed her to his big male trimac. This opened up a tank for me to move a fish around. So 5 males left now...

Had divided the 90 with egg crate light grid. All the way from top to bottom, ziptied on top to center brace along with the mag-floats in place and large rooks along the bottom. These little guys wont be able to move it.

Im not sure If I call these guys aggressive or dumb at this point. Both of the fish in the 90 have white snouts from rubbing trying to get at each other through the grate. Even with the divided 30 I was dealing with lips white from rubbing up against the dividers trying to get at each other.

trimacs are in the upper left tank, lower center tank and lower right tank. I cant wait to rehome some of these guys so I can do some other fish projects!
Looks very nice. Honestly you should do fish room tours and updates like Andy Woods on video. Also that creamsicle Midas or Petsmart red devil (can’t remember) is looking like a beast.

That one is a Petsmart devil. He is not happy with the move from the 300 to a 90. The new pearsei in the 300 is way more outgoing than this guy ever was. This remaining devil was low on the ranks when there were 4 amphs in the big tank and his personality kind of shows it. Nowhere as outgoing as the dominant amph. I will likely rehome him to pursue something different or if I decide to just keep two trimacs....

Update on the trimac.

I am down to two males. These to me are the cream of the crop. The two best looking ones are really going to make it tough to pick just one.

So I started with 6, sold off the one female that came in the batch first. Then I just sold off three to a hobbyist this weekend so this is now down to the two.

I was super happy that the guy who got my trimacs was a hobbyist who knew exactly what he was getting and how to care for them. In fact he had over 900 gallons in tanks! Just to show how much this guy appreciated what he was getting, he had to drive an hour and a half one way to come get my fish! So three hours round trip.

Im not sure if I want to move the two trimac into a divided 90 gallon for a bit to grow out or to give them their own space. In the divided tank they really show nicely because they are showing their best colors with a competitive male on the other side of the divider. If I do put them into the divided tank it will make me choose my keeper sooner since they are starting to get to be a size where the divider tank will be too small.

Will attempt to get some pics soon to update again.

Was able to get a picture of one of the potential keepers, a bit blurry but you get the idea. The fin trailers are just outrageously long, red just coming an and an elongated body to him. Tear drop under this one eye only and "flowers" are different on each side. This side has less but one elongated one. Other side has multiples.
