shud be OK as long as the turtles r not too much smaller than ure catfish! hybrids dont have as wide mouths as RTCs so shud be alright.

hey just a quick q. does that apply to a sand substrate too? will a TSN swallow the sand? mines only young, 12cm and shows a very round belly at times
well ive always kept my catfish with bare floors...however...if u imagine Catfish in the amazon basis...they have substrate all the time. so if u follow nature...they shud survive...but swallowing that much sand cant be good for them :s plus less sand = cleaner cuz excrement doesnt get trapped.

Hi, i'm new here and new to fish rearing.Need some advise please.

I have a RTC, currently about 13" long.

But his tail just wouldn't turn red.

I used to feed him lots of prawns as his main food.

And currently i'm feeding him cubes of frozen bloodworms.

Is there anything wrong with this? or should i change the type of food?

Thanks

nothing wrong with the diet but many members have sed that prawns or other shellfish tend to make catfish more yellow eventho it has beta caretenoid...but its just a theory! RTC colours usually darken with age anyways...hes still a baby @ 13'' just wait a bit!
