I got them in March of this year at around 5". So I've had them for about a little over 6 months.
I run a 3000gal/hour (11,356ltr/hr) closed loop on this 225 gal tank.

.
How big are the beasts now??
What is the growth rate you've found, mine have kinda stopped growing fast at 13-14" now.
Although earlier in their first year I used to keep them with tors, for almost 3-4 months, I have found that when tors are there in a tank, the only other fish that can compete with them is a tor, not even the Dorado were able to get enough food.

That's some flow, is this the filter pump or just for circulation??

Even my tank is a 220 gallon, and a 40/50 gallon filter tank.

I'll put a ruler to it to confirm its size.
It's just a filter pump.
They are very slow eaters. I sit there for about 15 minutes dropping pellets.

Be careful what you see and read. Sometimes it doesn't appear what you think. Yes, I can post pretty pictures of a peaceful and all good tank but is it really? It's good that people ask questions.
I know a few of you are wondering WTF..... something doesn't seem right with those pretty dorados. You're right. I've only shared the nice side.
Dorados based on my experience thus far are aggressive. They do chase and nip each other. Scales do fly. Hard glass banging. Each does have their favorite spot in the tank.

Everything I posted on this thread have been accurate and true.

love it.

with territorial fish, to me, its never a matter of if but when they will display territorial aggression, usually when they mature, each specimen will have their own intensity of it that determines how long and what you can get away with

I thought it was working with minimal aggression cause they are in good shape no doubt but you only had them a couple months, I figured around 18" is when you'll start seeing issues really happen

Lovely, in your tank I can see there are are two of them holding a spot and are comfortable with each other. And are chasing others off.

In my tank before I added the branchy driftwood, the alpha would roam the entire tank and would not allow any one to come out of the corner.

No specific place he would hold, he just wants the entire tank to not have any free swimming fish

You are spot on. They each have a place. It is usually the dumb smaller ones that get out of line and get nailed. They deserve it.
