WC yesterday. Monsoon season approaching so I turned the heater back on.
It's feeding time and they are circling the tank. They don't take hand outs so they will wait till the pellets hit the bottom and then hunt for them as a shoal.

That was extremely soothing and relaxing.

Your group is so different from mine, mine don't pick anything from the bottom, even when they were small and in a bare bottom tank.

The group with me is so different characteristically.

Will take a feeding video tomorrow.

I'll take a better close up feeding video tomorrow as well. Mine has been on pellets from day one. I'm telling you....these guys like to hunt. There is something about their senses. They can detect the food without seeing it. Pellets fall between rocks and they find it. As I mentioned, they take at least 15 minutes of my time dropping pellets. Pellets get messy if I drop it all at once.

Dorados really are an actively predatory species. Few fish are so gregarious and dynamic. I get the impression that packs like this take on the personality traits of the alpha.

This is so true Im not sure if its kens choice of music or the dorado's, its both for sure. :)
Then you're going to like this.

Fransicanus meets Massivorus (graphic)
Six at a time. Small shoals of Massivorus would enter the shallows hiding for the evening. But it is the keen senses of the Dorado that spots them and goes into a feeding frenzy.
Not for the weak hearted....moe you might want to turn away at :14 of the video. Head pops and guts everywhere. This would go on for 15 minutes but 2 minutes of this massacre is enough.
