I have an 85 gallon long containing a 6" JD pair, 4" Midevil, 3.5" Green Terror, two 1.5" baby Jags (will get a new tank when theyre too big), two 2" convicts, and a 2" Mayan. Are there any schooling fish that will not get eaten? I don't think there are and I know it is a probably a stupid question. I just figured it would look very cool to get some more activity and contrast in my fish.

If you are willing to shell out the money, Congo tetras are beautiful and good schoolers. A cheap alternative are Buenos Aires tetras. Congos are more colorful, but cost $8-12 each. Buenos Aires are white with a bit of red and black on them for $2-3 each. Both are deep bodied what around 3" long and while congos are more colorful, the Buenos Aires are better schoolers. So it depends on what you want more: movement or contrast?

more movement. contrast and prettiness of fish is second. I want something that wil be super active but also very quick incase my cichlids decide they want a snack. the other purpose is to distract them (specifically my JD pair) from attacking eachother and chase the school instead. again the importance of the school fish being fast.

Giant danios work well with my Centrals in my 125. They are very fast and active. Mine are around 4 inches long now. My 4 cichlids are 8-10 inches long and do not bother them.

I have giant danios with O's and they are never fast enough to catch them.

If petsmart is still having their tetra sale, buenos aires are 1 $ each and were great schooling fish up untill my oscar picked them off one by one. Took him a few months though. Lol

I also got my beunos aires for a dollar a pop, beein in my ca/sa tank for almost a year now, they are faster than all my cichlids so can escape attacks quickly

You must have a quick Oscar then. I have never encountered a fish that could catch a BA tetra.

Giant danios will work, but they don't school. Tetras are the best schoolers, hands down. Anything else that is labeled as a "schooler" in places like Petco are just shoalers, which means they don't like being right next to each other, but still like to be within eyesight.
