Make sure you get one with some size on it. As Oscar's are one of the fastest growing fish out there.

Raphael cat would be good too. Not huge but stays out of the way and is good for cleanup.

What about a bottom feeder to help clean up excess food that falls to the bottom? I've been back and forth on a pleco (common or sailfin) but they would end up producing a lot of waste once they get bigger so idk. In my mind I'm thinking of having 3 fish total...not really interested in any schooling fish...just the oscar, and a couple smaller mates that'll get along.
Best bottom feeder for the oscar is the Python No Spill, you don't have to worry about the increase of waste and nitrates with this tankmate. It also survives out of water.

LOL...I got that basic thing, but I have sand and that's usually difficult to use with the big attachment.
