Shark Egg: Round Two

Just built the 55g refugium for the 220g shark tank. Pretty happy with how it came out.
I'm planning on using mostly Gracilaria in the refugium, and I have a 24" T5 light with 4 24watt bulbs that I'm going to use.

I've never actually used a refugium before though. So, any suggestions?

Same batch doesnt mean same mom. Remember these eggs are sitting by the dozens in wholesalers and are added as they come in and then your store gets a random group in a shipment. No guarantee its the same momma.

They were all the same size when I bought mine though.
Because they're probably from different batches, would that mean that they would grow at different rates?

In the video, they put the shark into the container "incubator" for better viewing. This is NOT ideally what you want to do. Let the shark grow in the egg until the yolk sack has disappeared and the shark is very active, then it should be ready to hatch. It might be harder to see the progress in the egg as compared to a jar, but I would not risk moving it out of the egg.

Good luck with your egg, I hope to see some pictures of a baby soon.

I figured this wasn't something that was ideal for the shark. I have no intentions of attempting anything like this, but I found this kind of interesting. It's a neat idea, but I'll leave that process to big aquariums and experts.

And yes, I too am looking forward to pictures of a baby soon. The wait is miserable
