That is just cruel...I'm sorry...I would say out of all the "other" methods asides from clove oil that the bowl of freezing cold ice water would work the best because it should put the fish's sensory organs into shock and not make it feel the cold water.

dude unfortunetly i had to do this before just do a real quick slice right behind the head deep enough to sever the spine it worked really fast for me i know its hard to do but it is a lil easier then cutting the entire head off, and slaming into the wall has the chance of u slowing down instinctivly to not hurt the fish if u kno what i mean

I would say that the wall would be "hit or miss". If you want to bludgeon the thing to death hit it with a shovel outside.

Absolutly!...if you can't afford it, you shouldn't be keeping fish, period...

i am not going to go to the store to buy some clove oil. i think slammin it into a wall should work. ive seen people euthanize mice by snapping their neck with a pencil.

1 time against the wall should immediately knock it out.

If you won't go get clove oil to do it humanely, then you should give up fish keeping. Do it the right way, or don't do it at all.
