Thank you. I personally just move my tank lights to the front so the background gets less light and I also had a DSLR camera so I could mess with my settings etc on the camera to take better pics than a standard camera. There is a sticky by a very talented photographer that is a member here and was once one of the Mods his name is Xander. He used to use styrofoam boxes to direct a remote controlled flash down in a cone more less so only the subject(the fish) would be illuminated, creating the dark background effect.
