L190 have red eyes, L191 are the brown eye version. Both are very similar otherwise.Tai95 said:

As long as you keep good water params, and feed him well, but not over fed, he should be fine.Tai95 said:
I thought that some (but not many) L191 actually had red eyes but I'm not sure. I'm thinking that the main characteristics are bold but sparse lines and also size of only around 10" max for L191. Short body & big ol' panaque head too. More info appreciated!
As far as I have seen the L191 is only a brown eyed pleco. One of the common names for it is the dull eyed royal. The stripes differ from royal to royal within the same species. A friend in spokane breeds L190s and in the same batch of babies had 1 with wide stripes of off white, and another come out with thin off white stripes. Both parents were medium stripes.loach43 said:

Yeah that guy looks like an L191. Very good looking pleco still. I'll have to do a little research on that and get back to you as to what it was you saw... However, so often do I see mislabeled fish on the internet. I have seen Acanthicus Adonis labeled as L155 Acanthicus Hystrix way too often. If you want an example check out Petsolutions, they have Rhino plecs and Marble sail fin plecs L083 listed with the same picture... they also have L264 listed as Leopard plecs L114.
