As of 1/31/2023, I really want to move him into a 75 gallon, but I am also treading lightly for 2 reasons 1-the last time I moved my big aimara, he must've been stunned and he was floating belly up less than 2 hours later and 2- I worry that he may not fare well and may die if I rush this new tank, which would absolutely suck because it would be a long while before Rod gets more in. I really wish I knew better and didn't let the group of 3 live in the same tank.
Yeah i agree, thank you mate. Still attempting to find another aimara after my big guy passed. its always a risk with our rare fish that we have, that they may be hard to get, but thats also what makes the hobby fun and rewarding but also expensive as can be. I appreciate your help so much, you're one of the best!Take ur time on the 75 setup and theres no worry. Let it cycle for a month, run some “tester” fish, then let er rip lol… these guys are pretty hardy also i dont think theres any worry or comparison to aimara. Last time i moved mine he bailed from the acclimation tub while i was up stairs. Found him on the floor floppin, threw him in the tank… that lasted all of about an hr as he terrorized every fish in it so he was netted and placed back alone in a different tank un acclimated. Didnt miss a beat lol… As long as ur 75 is cycled and ready to go, ur guy will b fine. If ur trying to move his current tank into a 75 same day, problems will arise.
