I would do the knife some silver dollars, butterfly fish and a pair of nandus nebulous leaf fish, maybe nandus nandus if you can't find nebulous, maybe what oddball suggested Aswell if they stay small enough?
Sounds like a cool tank, your eel could eventually outgrow your tank btw!-)
tbh I may like your idea the best and I had thought about a leaf fish as well

If it were me and I was looking for an unusual mid to top water swimmer for a 125, I'd opt for one of the Paretroplus species. These are moderately active species that resemble marine tangs.

So do you know how available these usually are at a lps? Sounds like a good idea but what are the common cost for this fish?

A handful of lps carry a couple of species. However, you can find better prices online direct from breeders. Some are regularly offered on this site, ebay, aquabid, etc. A google search for the genus will yield more sellers.
