I would say that is a valid point.Alex, I have t-shirts that are as old as you. lol For another you have probably never seen anyone that has kept spotted SD's that are more than a few yrs old. Fishbase specimen was approx. 7" TL, so clearly the potential for 5" or better is very realistic. You stated that they only get to 4", I disagree. There have been members here on MFK that in the past have stated theirs were 5-51/2".
Nice. The silver dollars in post 3 are in fact not Metynnis lippincottianus but are a species that is nice looking, metynnis roosevelti, which are rare in my area sadly.Post #3.

I have a group of spotted, I chose them for a smaller size. They are more like six inches total length

Thanks, in the big tank they are also quite mellow not skittish at all. I think tank size is the most important factor in their behavior
