Smallmouth Bass Fry Care

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I solved the stunting problem lol; it was the lack of copepods. I didn't think about the copepods because I raised some from fry last year and didn't have any trouble with growth.

I also would like to point out that the pond has no filtration whatsoever, and I do a 75% water change for the ones in the aquarium every 3 days.

Any ideas on the ID of the bass? I'm not 100% sure on the ID because I let other people fish in my pond, and I tell them that they can add fish to the pond if they catch them from the same river that I got all the other fish from provided they tell me first so I can approve the addition of new fish (by inspection, of course).

Well, I solved the problem of the undersized bass fry by accident. I looked into the tank this morning, and they were all gone so the two big ones must have eaten them lol.

I also got a bluegill (?) today that is slightly larger than the two bass; they seem to be getting along fine.

Lastly, I rearranged the tank and added some river rock so it looks much nicer now. Will post pics soon.

Here's some of the pics I took of my 10 gallon native aquarium.

All three fish are currently on live food since they will be moved to my pond once they are big enough.
