We don't have snow but try this, Hail stone. Like snow after it's had a few weeks on steroids. Pea size blocks of ice if your not familiar :

Ouch! That must hurt if you are walking in that... also, doesn't it damage your car??

It does hurt if you get caught in it but it rarely happens and when it does it tend to last less than a minute. I never heard of a car being damaged by it here but i know in other countries there have been freak hail stones the size of baseballs that have caused damaged.

I thought I was finally going to get you some snow pictures yesterday, it snowed for about 2 hours when I was in work in the morning and everything turned white. Then it rained and washed it all away, there is more forecast for later this week.
 
You should get a job working for the Mauritius tourist board your doing a great job!
