I just set the 150G up 2 days ago. I need some more rocks and taller fake plants among other things like a Rena. Black background though...

The smaller tank is a 75G with black background.

Very nice, i like the look of the 150 more because of the light, i am thinking of doing the same thing but instead of black sand, white. Thanks for the share

im using white sand in my 120 gal but still have one of those nasty blue tape on backgrounds but will soon be painting it black. if your looking for a nice fish with personality and beauty, i recommend finding you a pair of true Festae's (Red Terror). i have a pair and they are beautiful.

I know, their are beautiful. But in my area it is hard to come across some TRUE red terrors, how would i tell the difference between the fakes and real ones?
And when you get the black background, it makes the tank look like it is wider from the front and if you have a lot of plants/driftwood in front, it makes it look even wider like this..

Now imagine this tank filled with SA/CA cichlids

I can vouch that the african cichlids get reallly boring after some time. I had a tank full and burned out quickly. It got lots of compliments but seeing it on a daily basis was just plain boring after 6 months. SA seem to have more personality and are more fun in my experience.

Sounds like me talking :-)

The honeymoon lasted a few months, then divorce and went back to CA cichlids
