just got back from a saint paddys day party :D

wow that is really cool, what is the total cost?
at this point
17 - 8' timber posts - 3 bucks each = 51 bucks
2 - 6' 1/2" all thread rod = 10 bucks each so 20 bucks
12 - lock nuts - around 25 cents = 3 bucks
12 - washers -around 15 cents = 2 bucks
plus tax
drill bits i had, they will cost around 5 to 10 bucks

you will want a 2000 gph pump for a 500 gallon pond
thats alot :irked:

Imm gonna guess you paid about......$250 so far, am i right?
:grinno: look above :D

ok you've stacked the logs. now how do you line it?
plywood then styrofoam then pond liner.

GOD! this is better than going to the movies!
at least all this typing and picture taking isnt a waste. :D

scored some full sheets of weathered 1/2" plywood for 5 bucks each :headbang2
im going to use 3 and a half pieces of ply.
im going to double up the bottom for more strength.
its overkill but thats how i like it. :D
so if bought at the store, and only one layer bottom,it would be 3 sheets at about 12 bucks each.
im going to use liquid nail between the 2 bottom ones.
im going to use deck screws to attach the ply to pond "once i get some".lol
i dont know if i should paint the plywood,or the timbers,or both,or a color.
any opinions? :D
cut pics tomorrow.

this is going to stay outside right?
stain it and seal it, i say.

so you going to put the plywood non the bottm of the "stand" structure then put syrofoam and more plywood up the sides? or do i just not get this?

ya outside, but could be indoor if one wanted ;) lol :D
thats an idea,stain/seal,then it will still look "wood colored" lol
im going to screw the 2 pieces of ply together.
then screw it to the bottom side of the timbers.
then screw the sides on the inside.
then glue styro on the inside of that.
then im going to put sand in the bottom corners to add a curve in the bottom.
then the liner.

will the ply hold the sand in place?
i heard, somwhere not realted to building ponds, that you can hold stuff like sand and salt mounds together with egg whites. just thought that was interesting. maybe you could do that, but it seems a little too extranious.
