Stealth Heater Problems

Stealth Heater are junk.....I had a 250w with my large datnoids and I couldnt figure out...that when I put my hand in the tank....... with a few cuts on my fingers...it would burn and sting the cuts......I thought it was bad water quality...so I took out my sand....cleaned the filters.... and still no change. I thought it was due to the ph....but little did I know that the stealth heater was producing an electric current in Datnoid tank. I figures this out...that when I put aluminum foil on the top of the tank..it sparked. I would never recommend a stealt heater to anyone!!!!!!! Luckily I caught it on time!!!!

Hi, You know I have had no issues with the Stealths at all. The only down fall is that if you have a few of them on a tank ex: 1-4 of them and one goes out, you don't know which one it is and the others will have to work that much harder to maintain the temp. of the tank. The new Stealths have the indicator lights on them and they are great IMO. I have only had one Stealth (older model) go out on me. The Ebo Jager heaters are nice heaters, but a little over priced as far I am concerned. I have the unfortunate luck of have three of them fail on me.
Be aware when you are ordering from Drs. Foster and Smith, if you put a comment about a particular item that isn't positive, they will not post it on the board. My comments were about the Ebos and even tho they are a good heater, are prone to breakage and aren"t worth the $$. I took my complaint all the way up the chain and it is their position and policy that they will handle all comments that are not on a positive nature with their customer by email only. They sell good products and have good customer service, but be aware of their tactics when all you see is positive posts about items.
