Should be good to go then. Some people claim iodine is bad as well, which is a common addative to table salt, but it's in such a small amount that the salt level would kill the fish long before the iodine did anything. Iodine can be a benefit in aquaria as well. There are iodine additives out there for aquarium use.

There is debate on whether the anti caking stuff is really toxic too. Some say yes, others say no. I can't say for sure either way. It's easy enough to find salt that doesn't have it though, so I figure it's probably not worth the risk.

Last time I had Ich I used Mortons Table Salt along with Coppersafe. I just looked at the carton and it says caking agents. Luckily I didn't loose any fish from it. I am not using that brand this time though.

All the tanks are contaminated. The 75 and one of the 55 gallons are showing no or little signs of ick. But I moved all the ones I see with ick into the other 55 and its being treated with coppersafe. Most of the ick in that tank is gone but I am gonna salt too.

If you can see it on 1 fish, then all of the fish in that tank have it. Some are more resistant than others and might not show signs as fast. Some fish might never show visible signs, but they still act as carriers.

If the fish are small enough (and nice enough) to all get along in the 75, I'd move them all there. That would make treatment easier. Ich supposedly can't survive without fish so it will die out in tanks that don't have fish in them. Just bump the temp up to 85 to speed up the ich lifecycle and those empty tanks should be ich free in a week. Then you just have to salt 1 tank. I'd bump the temp up in the salt tank to 85 as well while treating. Will help get rid of it faster.

Remember to keep up the salt for at least 3-5 days after the last of the spots disappear to make sure you kill any remaining cysts in the water column or substrate when they hatch.

Right now its

75 Gallon
* Oscar

55 Gallon
* Male Shortbody Flowerhorn
* Female Blood Parrot

55 Gallon
* 3 Blood Parrots
* 2 Shortbody Flowerhorn
* 1 Kilin Parrot

I only have one divider that fits the 75 gallon so it wouldn't work. I bought enough salt for at least 2-3 tsp per gallon for all tanks.

Cool. I'd get up to 2 tsp per gallon as soon as possible. Don't want to leave it at 1 tsp for a full day. You could do 1 tsp/gal tonight and add the 2nd first thing tomorrow morning. I probably wouldn't leave it more than 12 hours at 1 tsp. Longer it stays at 1 the more chance of some of it developing a tolerance.

Most cichlids should be hardy enough to take it straight to 3 or 4 tsp with no acclimation though. I've done that with JD's, Convicts, and Firemouths with no issues.

I haven't put it in the other 55 yet (watching South Park) but I will put it all in at once. And then I will add the rest into the other to tank later tonight.

Um, you might want to remove 50% of the water from all the tanks. Just an idea, even tho its too late

I have been doing daily 20% water changes the last couple day.
