it is true that they have huge mouths.

once they are about half size ( 3 feet) they normally eat what they can !!

I just checked the cam and it looks like the Dovii has grown a bunch since I saw him last. Can't wait for it to be finished.

OK I just have to ask, how many buckets of ummm... waste does your monster plecs create? I know my mini monsters produce far more then I care to clean out

Hey John, Love the tank hope that the filling of the extension goes without a problem this time *fingers crossed*

How about pointing the cam towards the work when the fish have moved to the extension for the dividingwall demo? I think it would be very interesting to see that happen ... seeing you get the fish moved over would be worth the price of admission as well LOL.

I look forward to seeing the progress and can honestly say that your tank is an inspiration to me to have a monster tank ... just need to convince my wife that the kids don't really need a "play room" in the basement!

Dan: My 3.5" BN plec, after a decent meal, regulary produces strands of poo between 6-7" long. Prolly 1/16" diameter. He does this up to 3 times a day.

This is just a 3.5"! Plec. Imagine a 3 footer after a good feed... It'd be bigger than yours!

water in the tank extension is being mixed with the existing tank. the output of one bio tower empties into the extension tank and returns thru a pipe in the wall between them.

coates 30 kw booster heater used to pre heat the extension tank

temp filter setup march pump ( 125gpm) thru a hayward canister filter. water is taken over the wall with a 3 inch siphon and returned in 2 inch...


note the little blue handled valve that is the hose input to start the 3 inch siphon.......
