Tank for Atlantic Sharpnose or Blacktip Reef Sharks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i read somehwere 10k + but it really depends on dimmensions and footprint tanks would be better than long/high

10000 Gallons?! That seems like an awful lot for two bamboos, or cat sharks and a stingray... I hope I won't have to build a tank that big lol. I've got no space for something that large.

Yeah - 10,000 gallons very large system for a private aquarists. And really unneccessary for just keeping bamboos, and round rays.

BTW - Atlantic Stingrays are quite hardy - it's just they can get a bit larger than most round rays.

Okay so I'm thinking right now two brown banded bamboo sharks and a cortez stingray. How much would I be looking at in terms of filtration and water changes with those three guys in a tank that is 9'x5'x3'? I would also like to keep a couple of reefs in the corner. Does all that sound okay or will something become a problem? I decided to go with the Cortez due to the fact that it styas smaller than the other rays :).

I just looked up the bullseye and I never saw or forgot about them, really nice looking small ray but I have never seen them for sale.

Basically I've got a couple more feet to spare around the tank if I build it to these dimensions: 9'x5'x3'
thats a 1010 gallons and for sure good for some bullseye stingrays and I would think those small sharks, but for sure I'm not the one for shark info but someone will chime in soon. Are you building a pond or a tank or having one built?

My friend built a 800 Gallon tank last summer which was what got me interested in the whole saltwater thing now, he got a horn shark and a couple of reefs. He said he would help me build a 1000 Gallon this summer and I'm just doing my research so I know what I can stock the tank with safely :). By the way Deano, if you don't mind me asking, where do you get your rays from?
