g morin check out petsoulutions.com They have some black sand that is also great for growing plants in it as well. Like $20 a bag as well....plus shipping. I bet it would look good though....here is the item no. #18400770. Its 22.99 and its called Eco complete freshwater substrate.

It was in my tank for a long while... I recently took it out and it kinda dried out... I had it soaking in the tank but it has a rigid slate base, I didn't want one of my bass get hurt or slam it into the glass and crack it... Lol either way the natural sand will be out asap!

i like sand,but too scared it gets sucked into the powerheads and whenever i do water changes the fish get excited and it gets sucked up....
