Looking good G-mornin. I just brought 3x 3m black sand S grade. $20.00 a bag.

Yeah I can't find 3m anywhere near me that's why I'm going with moon sand

g morin check out petsoulutions.com They have some black sand that is also great for growing plants in it as well. Like $20 a bag as well....plus shipping. I bet it would look good though....here is the item no. #18400770. Its 22.99 and its called Eco complete freshwater substrate.

Yeah I have driftwood... Its soaking now so it actually sinks. Thanks though

let it soak it in the tank so that the tannins go into your water

It was in my tank for a long while... I recently took it out and it kinda dried out... I had it soaking in the tank but it has a rigid slate base, I didn't want one of my bass get hurt or slam it into the glass and crack it... Lol either way the natural sand will be out asap!

i like sand,but too scared it gets sucked into the powerheads and whenever i do water changes the fish get excited and it gets sucked up....
