yeh ive always wanted sand too.. but was always afraid it will stuff up my sump...
 
Anybody else out there with pics? The more the merrier...
 
As for the sand it does get sucked up into everything the trick is screens over all inlets or sponges on all inlets. Trust me I really dont like sand any kind but black sand looks so PIMP I cant resist also the tan looks PIMP too. But I have learned while going through my trail time that foam over the inlets is a must.

but ive heard that having foam over the inlets can cause the filtration to not be as good.

It's gotta be better then hearing the grinding sand tearing up your pump in your sump or your prepailer in your hob. So you loose a little turn around! Not that big of a deal and I bet it's not that big of a difference. Also you can use 10m micro screen which should not affect your flow if so very very little.
 
Where would I find such a screen and or sponge for my fx5 because that's a good idea
