Nope. There was a little interest but me and the father got in a big arguement thus leading me to keeping mr.green cause i really couldn't go through with selling him. My dad is very pissed about the situation....

293 Posts read. Nice project, I does make the "little" 240 I am finishing really look little.

6K? Seriously, look for someone to help you build your next tank. I read earlier in the thread that you are not a DIY'er, but the best way is to just start somewhere. You could have built that tank for less than $1000.

And I like the long narrow tank. My next will be a 12'-14'L x 30"W x 24"H

Good luck with the rest of the project, and I am sorry to hear about your grouper.

Yea i am sure i could have gone cheaper but not for this tank.

Look up a 12x2 peice of 1.25 inch acrylic. Read me the cost of that x6

Why acrylic? at 24" height you could easily get away with 2x 6' pieces of 1/2" glass. Maybe tops $400.

for tank size 144"x24"x24" with a glass thickness of 1/2" gives youa safety factor of 4.

I went with 3/8" glass foir my 240 that is 24" high. full it has zero bow, and a safety factor of 2.5 which for my tank size it is midline safe.

Food for thought. Better bang for your buck :headbang2:

I am fully aware of the height requirements. I just wanted something solid, and 12ft doesn't come in anything under that. At least in my area. So when its all said and done, i got what i want, out of what i could have.

Then that is all that matters.

Enjoy the tank, love Mr. Green that is one mean looking monster.

Trust me i wish the parents would have alowed more than 2ft wide

I got a 534 gallon for 2000 cash... I could have bought a couple of those. But o well, this tank was build strong and to last. No worries about cracking, or falling apart. It is literally bullet proof, could take multiple bullet shots.
